What do I do if I forget my username and password? |

If you forget your password, return to the registration page by clicking on the "register/edit profile" icon on the home page of SavorWisconsin.com. Click on "I forgot my password." You will be asked to enter the primary phone number of your business. You will then be prompted to answer the password reminder question that you supplied when you created your profile. If you answer the question correctly, your username and password will be e-mailed to the authorizing e-mail address on the profile. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please contact the website administrator at DATCP, 608-224-5100, or via e-mail at info@savorwisconsin.com.

How can I change the information listed in my profile? |

To change the information in your profile, click on the "register/edit profile" icon on the home page of SavorWisconsin.com. Log in with the username and password you created when you registered your business. Six information categories will appear, and you can click on those categories to change the information listed in your profile. When you have made a change to your profile, be sure to click the "submit" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes. |

Are businesses automatically listed on the site after registration is completed? |

There is a website administrator at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection who reviews business profiles before they are approved for listing on the site. If your business is approved, you will receive an automatic notification from SavorWisconsin.com. If additional information is required, you will be contacted by the website administrator. |

Do I have to register my business on SavorWisconsin.com each year? |

No, you only have to complete a business registration one time. Businesses are, however, encouraged to update their information as often. SavorWisconsin.com may send periodic reminders to businesses asking for profile updates.
Farmers' Markets, however, do need to be registered each year. This is due to change of venues, times and start dates. |

How do I register a business on SavorWisconsin.com? |

First, click on the "register/edit profile" button. There you should determine if your business is a producer, processor, or manufacturer of Wisconsin food and agricultural products. These types of businesses should complete the "producer" registration; restaurants, specialty retailers, and food cooperatives should complete the "restaurant" registration. Click on the appropriate profile for your business type and select the blue bar labeled "Create New Registration." Producers will go through six screens of questions; restaurants and retailers will go through four. Registration will take approximately 20 minutes. Several help icons are located throughout the registration pages to assist you if you have questions. Your registration is not complete until you have selected the appropriate county from the county listings. |

This includes all types of businesses: "pick-your-own" fruit and vegetable farms, specialty food producers, horticulturalists, livestock genetics, large commercial manufacturers, and the list goes on. We also welcome restaurants and retailers that source from and specifically identify products from Wisconsin companies. |

Agriculture encompasses everything from the food we eat to some of the clothes that we wear, as well as the trees and plants in our communities, and some of the fuels we put in our vehicles. The purpose of SavorWisconsin.com is to enable consumers across the state, nation and world to find their favorite Wisconsin products easily, searching from their home computer with the most advanced internet search capabilities. |

How and when was SavorWisconsin.com developed? |

The SavorWisconsin.com project was initiated in late 2002. The project was guided by three entities -- the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), University of Wisconsin-Extension, and the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association (WAGA). In 2003, DATCP received $3.1 million in Federal Specialty Crop Grants. A portion of that was given to the WAGA as a grant for their initiative to develop a web-based resource for locally grown products. ProNet Consulting, LLC (Appleton, WI), was selected by the WAGA as the site developer. Registration for Wisconsin's agricultural producers and businesses began December 1, 2003, and the site was launched for public use on January 4, 2004. |

The goal of SavorWisconsin.com is to offer site users easy access to the events that pertain to a larger audience for both consumers and producers. This includes conferences, trade shows, festivals, fairs, educational opportunities, etc., and only events that are sponsored by government, agricultural associations, or non-profit organizations. Wisconsin's producers and businesses host numerous events on a regular basis and list events individually in their business profiles. |
